Southbury Parks and Recreation Department sponsors a diverse range of events, activities, and programs for the youth and young at heart of the Town of Southbury. These offerings are designed to meet the physical, social, cultural, and educational needs of the community for those of all ages.

For the enjoyment of friends and families alike, the P&R Department annually holds such special events as the egg hunt, Memorial Day family picnic, letters from North Pole, summer concert series, and the tree lighting.

Eleven town parks are available for active and passive recreational use. The department also maintains 12 ballfields, 4 outdoor basketball courts, 10 soccer fields, a football field, 6 tennis courts, 1 volleyball court, 4 pickleball courts, a town pool, and large outdoor pavilion. The town also maintains playgrounds at Ballantine Park, Lakeside Park, Settlers Park, a walking track at Ewald Park, boat ramp and dock on Lake Lillinonah.

  • Ballantine Pavilion Rental Application Fill and return this application to the Parks and Recreation Main Office with a 50% deposit to secure your date. All applications must be complete with insurance and full payment 60 days before event. New applications and incomplete applications within 60 days of event may be subject to an additional $100 fee. Office will notify you when application is approved.

  • Class Proposal If you would like to offer a class or program with us please fill and return this form!

  • Southbury Celebration Application Do you run a food truck? Please apply today for the Southbury Celebration! Applications received before June 15th will be included in our promotions for the event and the final deadline to apply is July 14th. Celebration will be held September 9th, more details in the application.
