Universal Disclaimer

Universal Disclaimer: applies to all family members of all household for all Parks and Recreation Programs and activities to be updated periodically.

Cancellations:
If entire programs are cancelled, you will receive an email notifying you of the cancellation. All registrants will receive a full refund. Should a single day of a multi-day program be cancelled there is no refund as the value is based on the totality of the program.
Concussion:
I have reviewed the Concussion Information Sheet: https://www.southbury-ct.org/filestorage/20556/20567/20588/25726/Concussion_Information_For_Youth_Athletes.pdf
Court Rentals:
Tennis and Pickleball Court Permits are issued on a first come first serve basis. Each court reservation is for one hour in time. Residents of Southbury and Non-Residents are welcome to reserve the courts. Permits are sent automatically to your email IMPORTANT: if you have an email from SBCGlobal, you will NOT receive your permit. This is due to SBC's settings and can not be overridden. Due to the predicted high volume of requests, rental permits for the courts are limited to 2 hours of court rentals* per day per group.
*Court rentals include all the courts combined, including tennis and pickleball.
If a patron takes advantage of the self-serving system, the patron/account may be disciplined/suspended from Parks and Recreation services. Potential abuse includes but is not limited to: over use at any time, reserving multiple courts at a single time but only using one, and charging for services while using the facility.
In order to provide a self-serving system, with the option to reserve courts in advance (including weekends), once your permit is issued, there will be no refunds, "rain dates", or transfers- even in the event of inclement weather.
COVID-19:
By registering for Southbury Parks and Recreation's Program, I acknowledge that I am aware of the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that my child(ren) and I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the facility/program and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at the program location may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others.
In the event, a member of my household, or myself, is exposed to COVID-19, develops symptoms of COVID-19 or tests positive for COVID-19 I need to notify Southbury Parks and Recreation.
To access information about COVID-19 please visit the CDC's website.
Southbury Parks and Recreation follows the region 15 COVID policy, to see up to date information visit the region 15 website.
Grade Accuracy:
Southbury Parks and Recreation offers programs for patrons based on either age or grade. For those offered by age: the participant’s age must be achieved as of the start of the program (unless the program specifies otherwise). For those programs offered by grade: all school-year activities are based on the student’s current enrollment; all summer-time activities are based on the student’s rising-fall enrollment. School aged children will have their profile automatically adjusted at the end of June to their rising grade level.
Any patron falsely or erroneously enrolled in a program is subject to removal from the program without a refund.
Insurance:
The Town of Southbury does not provide accident insurance for any of its programs. All persons participate at their own risk and should make certain that they have their own insurance.
Late Pick-ups: I understand that a late pick-up requires staff to supervise my child and that for every 15 minutes of lateness, I will be charged $15. Failure to settle any balances incurred in a reasonable time period may result in my child not being allowed back to Parks and Recreation Programming. I understand that the pick-up times on the program schedule determine when these 15 minutes would start to accumulate.
Licensing:
Per Connecticut General Statute 17a-99, we are required to disclose that our programs are not licensed by the State Office of Early Childhood.
MAPP:
I have read the Minor Abuse Protection Policy
Multi-Child Discount:
Southbury resident families that have more than one child enrolling in specific programs are entitled to a discount. $25.00 is discounted for each additional child participating in the qualifying program. Multiple child discounts only apply to residents registered for Parks and Recreation camps and swim teams.
Non-Residents:
Non-residents may register for programs 7 days after registration opens. All programs that opened registered before 4/5/24 for non-residents are an additional $20.00.
Starting on 4/5/24 programs for non-residents are in transition to our new non-resident policy. The new non-resident policy will be a 30% fee, rounded to the nearest quarter of a dollar. Non-residents will pay an additional $4 per day pass for the pool, per tennis, and per pickleball court reservations. Pavilion rentals for non-residents will remain the same as stated on the pavilion application.
Omissions and Errors:
We try to ensure that the information in this brochure is accurate, but on occasion we may have missed something or printed a wrong time or price.
Photo Release:
Southbury Parks and Recreation reserves the right to photograph and/or video program participants for publicity purposes.
Refunds:
Refunds are granted automatically if a program is canceled.
Patrons must fill out a refund request form when they need to cancel out of a program. Patrons who submit a refund request form after a program's registration has ended may be subject to a $25 processing fee. Once a program/activity has started, no refunds will be granted unless unexpected medical complications (injury/illness) prohibit active participation in the program. A refund request form must be completed and submitted to the Parks & Recreation Department as soon as possible as refunds are not able to be issued for classes missed before the form is received. If a refund is granted for a medical reason, the amount will be pro-rated to reflect the number of classes remaining.
Special Assistance:
All children and adults are invited to participate in our programs. If you or your child needs accommodations for a disability or special needs, contact the Parks and Recreation Department at parkrec5@southbury-ct.gov.
Zero Tolerance Policy:
Any children, participates and/or by-standers that create a distraction to Southbury Parks and Recreation’s program, prevent other participants from learning, or initially cause harm to others will be removed from our program. Refunds may or may not be given. Additionally, we follow Region 15’s Policy for Bullying Prevention and Intervention found here.
