The Rochambeau Rebels are dedicated to providing an affordable competitive cheerleading program to area youth. This program provides a balanced and sustainable approach to youth cheerleading recognizing the needs of the athletes and their families. We are committed to excellence, creativity, and integrity that goes beyond the cheer mat.    Rochambeau Rebels Cheerleading is open to all children grades K-12, from any town, regardless of skill level or prior cheer experience. Specific team assignments will be based on registration numbers; however all children in the same grade will be placed together.   The Rochambeau Rebels season will run from September through March. The Rebels will practice twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Southbury Parks and Recreation or Rochambeau Middle School. Practices will occur between the hours of 5:30-8:30pm, with the younger teams practicing earlier and middle school and high school teams practicing later.    The Rebels do not participate in sideline cheering for other sports. Competitive cheer skill building is our only focus. Throughout the months of January, February and March, Rebels’ teams will participate in 3 mandatory cheerleading competitions.  January Competition: Winner’s Choice @ Foxwoods Resorts Casino approx 1.5 hour drive  February Competition: YCADA Globals @ Atlantic City NJ approx 3.5 hour drive  March Competition: IMPACT @ American Dream Mall approx 1.5 hour drive    All registered athletes will be issued a competition uniform for use during the season- the uniform must be returned at the conclusion of the season.  Families are responsible for the purchase of cheerleading shoes (brand/ style TBD by teams’ coaching staff), and other potential accessories not exceeding $50. Travel to competitions, accommodations at competitions, and spectator tickets are the responsibility of the family.  More information and FAQs please visit our website!  www.rochambeaurebels.com In order to serve you better, Southbury Parks and Recreation's programs are subject to change.
