Private Swim Lessons at The Southbury Town Pool

PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS at the Southbury Town Pool at Ballantine Park

Private swim lessons at the Southbury Town Pool provide individualized, one-on-one instruction based on each child’s current swimming ability, comfort level, and personal goals.

Private lessons are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited, so please register early.

Each registration is for one 30-minute private lesson on the selected date and time only. Registration does not reserve the same time block on any additional dates. Families interested in multiple lessons must register and pay separately for each date and time.

Private Swim Lesson Times:

Private lessons are offered on scheduled Mondays and Wednesdays during the following time blocks:
  • 10:00–10:30 AM
  • 10:45–11:15 AM
  • 11:30 AM–12:00 PM

Please register for the specific date and time block you would like your child to attend.

All private swim lessons are 30 minutes long.

Pricing:

Southbury Resident:$40 per 30-minute lesson

Non-Resident: $52 per 30-minute lesson

Private Swim Lesson Description:

At the beginning of the lesson, the instructor will assess the child’s swimming ability, comfort level in the water and areas that need improvement.

The instructor will then provide personalized instruction for the full 30-minute lesson based on the swimmer’s individual skill level and needs.

Private lessons may focus on water comfort, floating, kicking, breathing, stroke development, endurance or other swimming skills appropriate for the participant. The instructor will adjust the lesson based on the child’s ability and personal goals.



Private Swim Lesson Need to Know:

Please arrive 5 minutes before your child’s lesson so they can benefit from the entire lesson and do not have to join once the lesson is underway.

Children should arrive for lessons in their swimsuit. Children with long hair should have their hair tied back. Please provide goggles if your child would like to wear them. The pool will not be able to supply goggles.

Once you have brought your child to the designated lesson area, please move to a chair away from the poolside. Parents and guardians are encouraged to watch the lesson but should remain in the designated viewing area throughout the entire lesson. Remaining away from the poolside allows the child to focus on the instructor and participate independently.

Instructors reserve the right to assess each child’s swimming ability and determine which skills are appropriate to work on during the lesson.

Each registration covers one 30-minute private lesson on the selected date and time. Registration and payment are required separately for each additional lesson.

Make-up lessons are not always possible. If a make-up lesson cannot be scheduled, a refund will be issued.
