Memorial Day Parade and Picnic

We welcome all to the 2025 Southbury Memorial Day Parade and Picnic.

Parade and Ceremony! 

The Parade will occur on Monday, May 26, with a kick-off time of 11:00am sharp.  The parade will begin at the Pomperaug Office Park parking lot, located across from CVS, Depot Hill Road, continuing down Main Street South, and ending at the Veterans Memorial Green, located between the Town Hall and the Senior Center/Park & Recreation Offices. 

We invite everyone to gather on the green for the Memorial Day Ceremony, to take place around 12:00pm, honoring those who have died in military service since the Civil War began in 1861.

Cancellation procedures: If this event is canceled, notifications will be posted on the Town of Southbury's Facebook Page and an alert will be posted on Southbury Parks & Recreation's home page (which appears in a red banner at the top of this website).

Picnic Celebration! 

Join us afterward at Ballantine Park for the Annual Family Day Picnic. The picnic starts at 12:30pm and will run until 2:30pm with music, food, and recreational activities. 

Boy Scout Troop 1607 will be selling hamburgers, hot dogs, chips and drinks throughout the day for all to enjoy. You can buy food from them or bring your own. Veterans will receive a free meal compliments of the Troop.
