Spring Event: All Ages!

Join us on Saturday, March 28th for our Spring Event! Maybe you'll find a GOLDEN EGG and win one of these prizes:

Activities taking place:
  • Candy Scramble separated by ages: 4 and under and 5- 12 (candy-filled eggs and capsules placed out for children to collect)
  • Decorated spring scene for photo opportunity with the Easter bunny 
  • Live animals from Furry Scaly Friends
  • Non-perishable food collection for the Southbury Food Bank
  • NEW this year! There will be 8 golden eggs placed out on the field for the candy scramble. If you are the lucky one to find a golden egg, bring it to our Parks and Rec table for a PRIZE!
Time
  • Photo booth 9:00am-9:45am: Before the Scramble, join us inside the Parks and Recreation Building to take photos with our props, backdrop, and larger-than-life Easter bunny friend!
  • Visit Live Small Animals 9:00am-9:45am:  Furry Scaly Friends invites you to get up close with their amazing critters — pet them, take photos, and even hold some of your favorites.
  • Candy Scramble 10:00 am SHARP: The Candy Scramble will take place on the field behind Pomperaug Elementary School, weather permitting. The Candy Scramble may be moved inside if there is inclement weather.
  • Sensory Friendly Hour 10:00am-11:00am: Join us inside for a quieter hour with the Easter bunny and the Furry Scaly Friends! We will also have sensory friendly Candy Scrambles personalized to requested needs. 
What to bring:
Location:
  • Live animals and the Easter bunny will be inside the Parks and Recreation/Senior Center Building at 561 Main Street South. The Candy Scramble will take place next door behind Pomperaug Elementary School on their field. You can follow the egg signs to the field!
Parking:
  • Patrons may park at one of several locations: Parks and Recreation/Senior Center parking lot, Town Hall lower and upper parking lot, and/or Pomperaug Elementary School parking lot.
  • There will be a designated handicapped parking and drop-off area for people with accessibility needs on the Senior Center Parking lot side monitored by our staff.


Don't forget: Before you leave, find our egg/capsule return station and feel free to leave them for us to reuse next year!
