Take-away experiences for C.I.T.s in the program:
-Opportunity to attend a state-wide event held through the Connecticut Recreation and Parks Association called Camp College on Saturday, June 1 from 9 am-2:30 pm at Southern Connecticut State University. During Camp College, C.I.T.s will get the opportunity to tour a state college, attend their choice of workshops to enhance their skills, and network with other towns/cities throughout Connecticut.

-Additional training with Southbury Parks and Recreation staff.

-C.I.T. workbooks that track progress made with the Assistant Camp Coordinator on their weekly goals, how they achieve these goals, and reflections on their experiences each week.

-Team Building Opportunities with other C.I.T.s, camp staff, and campers while camp is in session.

-Enhance public speaking and leadership skills through running craft/activity stations during the week with a camp staff member.

-C.I.T.'s will get the experience of the camp from a leadership perspective, and still get to experience the joys of camp. Once a week C.I.T.'s will choose an activity to do together without the campers.

-The C.I.T. Program is an excellent resume builder! (Especially when applying to be a Parks and Recreation Camp Counselor!)
