Below you will find registration for two different camps we are offering this Summer for children entering Grades 1-5. In June we are offering a new enrichment camp through SPARK Business Academy. SPARK camp will run from 9:00am-3:00pm at Ballantine Park with Before and After camp add-on options. In July and August we will be offering our traditional Adventure Day Camp (ADC) at Ballantine Park from 8:30am-4:00pm, with Before and After camp add-on's. The pick-up and drop off locations will be the same for each camp, but the staffing and structure will be different. Both camps offer a sibling discount of $25 off at checkout for Southbury residents!

Spark

SPARK Business Academy builds real-life skills kids can use now — from money confidence to problem-solving — through hands-on, project-based learning. Children will leave with plans or portfolios they can explain and be proud of. The camp will still have built in play time and games, but each day has purposeful, structured learning. SPARK camp will be led by school professionals, with the exception of the lunch and swim time break at noon, when ADC counselors will bring the campers to Ballantine Pool for their swim lessons and pool time. Each week will have a different theme and separate the campers into age appropriate groups.

SPARK Enrichment Camp Week One Monday 6/22 - Friday 6/26, 9:00am-3:00pm: "Craft & Invention Fair":
Let's get crafty! Young entrepreneurs will create handmade items to "sell" to other "vendors" at their very own craft fair! In this program, students will learn about craft fairs and the ingenuity and creativity of the small business entrepreneur. They will produce goods and learn to create appealing advertising and displays. Other related topics will be discussed such as counting currency, budgeting, profit margins, buying and selling, and assessing the quality of goods.

SPARK Enrichment Camp Week Two Monday 6/29 - Thursday 7/2, 9:00am-3:00pm: "Build a Biz":
In this empowering program, campers apply their personal skills and interests toward being an entrepreneur! Campers will brainstorm their own business ideas based on personal interests, design marketing materials including business cards and flyers, then determine pricing needed to make a profit. Students have fun while developing business savvy and will wrap up the week launching their businesses at an event to raise money for a charity they select! *there is no camp Friday July 3rd*

Adventure Day Camp (ADC) - July 6th - August 14th, Mon - Fri, 8:30am-4:00pm
Adventure Day Campers will enjoy days full of sports and games, creative art projects, swim lessons, and fun in the sun. ADC will have entertainers on Tuesdays (such as Mini-Golf and Laser tag vendors) and scheduled field trips on Thursdays, (such as Quassy and the CT Science Center). Each camp week will be creatively themed and planned by our camp staff with age-appropriate activities and special events designed to give campers the most fun and memorable summer camp experience possible.

ADC offers weekly swim lessons and camp-designated pool time as part of your child’s experience (weather permitting)! Campers will be split into age-appropriate groups determined by the school grade they are entering and will participate in their daily activities within those age groups.
NOTE: During select weeks all groups may be mixed throughout the day.

ADC is offering an Early Bird discount of $25 off for all registrations received by 2/28/26! The discount will be applied in the final step of the checkout process.

Camp Form
If you signed up for Vacation Camp in December 2025, your child's camp form will be automatically linked to allow an easier registration process. It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to log into their MyRec account, access the camp form (labeled a custom form), and to review that all their child's information is updated. Instructions on how to do this are below under the forms section, this form can be filled out and edited at any time.

Camp Schedule & Weekly Themes

Week 1: Color Wars | 7/6 - 7/10  (Field trip to Camp Mattatuck on 7/9)
Bring your team spirit to kick off camp with competition and fun. Color Wars is a camp tradition where campers combine into groups with a designated color and utilize different skills and techniques for different activities throughout the week. Color Wars’ concept stresses the importance of sportsmanship, spirit, and camaraderie. Teams will have different themes, banners, team chants, costumes, and even a talent show. Teams will score points, and one team will be awarded the Camp Champion at the end of the week.

Week 2: Disney Week | 7/13 - 7/17  (Field Trip to the CT Science Center on 7/16)
Break out your Disney character clothes for a week filled with Disney-themed activities with a variety of games and crafts. Play our Star Wars themed laser tag on 7/14 with Laser Tag on the Go!

Week 3: Party in the USA | 7/20 - 7/24 (Field trip to Quassy on 7/23)

This will be a week filled with flag-flying fun as we celebrate America's 250th birthday with all the classic red, white and blue spirit!

Week 4: Splish Splash! 7/27 - 7/31  Field trip TBD
Dive into summer fun with a week filled with water-themed activities. Campers will enjoy an inflatable water slide, water balloon games, and even water gun painting.

Week 5: Hawaiian Hullabaloo 8/3 - 8/7 Field Trip TBD
Leis, grass skirts, and Hawaiian shirts encouraged! Get ready to do the limbo, create a surfboard, make a seashell necklace, and learn a different Hawaiian word each day.

Week 6: Wacky & Wonderful | 8/10 - 8/14  (Field trip to Urban Air on 8/13)
Sometimes the best memories are made when we embrace our silly sides and do what we feel like at the moment! The last week of camp will be about embracing spontaneity, trying new things, and making memories without expectations. This week provides the perfect chance to revisit favorite activities from previous camp weeks or break from the usual and create new adventures.

BEFORE and AFTER Camp PARKING
Parents should park at the pavilion parking lot at Ballantine Park for drop off and pick up - BEFORE AND AFTER CAMP ONLY!

*NEW: IMPORTANT CANCELLATION/REFUND INFORMATION:
Registration closes on Fridays 2 weeks before the start of each camp week.
Due to the large number of children on our Waiting list, we will be using this new refund policy:

Cancellations properly submitted before the registration close date of your child’s scheduled week will receive a full refund. This time allows adequate opportunity to get another camper enrolled.

Cancellations made after registration close for your child’s scheduled week will be charged a 25% cancellation fee. At this time your camper has already been placed into an age appropriate group, we have staffed accordingly, and any changes affect the entire camp.

Cancellations made within 7 calendar days of the start of your child’s scheduled week will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. One week before camp starts, field trip tickets have been paid for and it is often too short notice to get someone enrolled from the Waiting list.

In order to serve you better, Southbury Parks and Recreation's programs are subject to change. All Parks and Recreation programs are covered by the Universal Disclaimer.
