IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SUMMER 2025:
1. Registration will open on Monday, 12/30/24 for Southbury Residents, and on 1/20/25 for non-residents.
2. Our camps will allow 20 non-residents to sign up weekly. (Except Week 1 and 8, with 14 non-residents, notes are listed below for the themed week description). If the Non-Residents maximum has been reached, please join our wait list and starting on Thursday, 5/1 the Southbury Parks and Recreation Office will reach out to Non-Residents if there are spots available.

Adventure Day Campers will enjoy days full of exciting sports and games, creative art projects, exciting field trips, swim lessons, and fun in the sun. Adventure Day Camp (ADC) is held Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with scheduled field trips every Thursday (excluding weeks 1 and 3). Each camp week will be creatively themed and planned by our camp staff with age-appropriate activities and special events designed to give campers the most fun and memorable summer camp experience possible.
Adventure Day Camp (ADC) offers weekly swim lessons/camp-designated pool time as part of your child’s experience (weather permitting)! ADC will be outdoors daily at Ballantine Park Pavilion (weather permitting). Campers will be split into age-appropriate groups determined by the school grade they are entering and will participate in their daily activities within those age groups.
NOTE: During select weeks all groups may be mixed throughout the day.
Camp Form
If you signed up for Summer Camp in the 2024 season and/or any Vacation Camps from December 2024 - April 2025, your child's camp form will be automatically linked for December Camp, to allow an easier registration process. It is the parent/guardian's responsibility to log into their MyRec account, access the camp form (labeled a custom form), and to review that all their child's information is updated. Instructions on how to do this are below under the forms section.

Early Bird Discount
EXPIRES Monday, February 3 - ACT NOW (early bird discount is applied at checkout).
- Save $25 on individual weeks.
The Early Bird discount will be applied at checkout (make sure to go through the entire online process to the payment screen to view the adjustment). Starting on February 4, the Early Bird discount will no longer be applied.
Additional Discount Information
Multiple registration discounts will be provided when you register for 6 or more weeks of camp. These discounts are part of a "bundle" package, that will be applied on the checkout screen! (The all-summer package will not be offered this year).
-When you register for 6 weeks of camp, you will have a $150 discount applied on the checkout screen for that 6th week. Registering for 7 to 8 weeks of camp will take off an additional $25 for week 7 and week 8. To confirm, if you signed up for all 8 weeks, your multiple registration discount will be $200.
-The Southbury Resident additional child discount will be applied at check out, for those who qualify, for all Summer Camp options, including the all summer packages.

Camp Schedule & Weekly Themes
Week 1: Splish Splash Week | 6/16-6/20 - register by 6/2
Splish Splash! Dive into summer fun with a week filled with water-themed activities. Campers will start the summer strong with a water slide, water balloon games, and even water gun painting.
We will only be accepting 70 campers this week (with 14 non-residents).
Week 2: Color Wars | 6/23-6/27 – register by 6/9
Bring your team spirit to kick off the camp session filled with competition and fun. Color Wars is a camp tradition where campers combine into groups with a designated color and utilize different skills and techniques for different activities throughout the week. Color Wars’ concept stresses the importance of sportsmanship, spirit, and camaraderie. Teams will have different themes, banners, team chants, costumes, and even a talent show. Teams will score points, and one team will be awarded the Camp Champion at the end of the week.
Week 3: Party in the USA | 6/30-7/3 (no camp on Friday, 7/4) – register by 6/16
Celebrate summer with a week filled with flag-flying fun. Celebrate America's birthday and our independence with all the classic red, white and blue spirit while creating friendships!
Week 4: Adventure Day Camp & The Thrills of Harry Potter | 7/7-7/11 - register by 6/23
Calling all muggles and would-be wizards and witches. An Owl Post has arrived with mention of bringing the wizarding world to the muggle world! Campers will be sorted into their house: Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, or Slytherin. During the week, campers will gain a wand, have Quidditch Practice, and attend classes featured in the Harry Potter series, including potions class and magical beasts! On Friday, a game of Quidditch will commence. The winning team will take home the Quidditch Cup, and all campers will celebrate with Hogsmade's famous Butterbeer.
Week 5: Winter in July | 7/14-7/18 – register by 6/30
Winter came early, or really late, but get ready for a frosty twist on summer!While the sun is shining and temperatures are high, we're bringing the chill of winter to camp with snowy-themed activities, cool adventures and cozy vibes campers can handle. Campers will feel the festivities in July with this week filled with winter-themed activities and crafts: Snowmen, snowflakes, and even snowballs.
Week 6: Summer Olympics | 7/28-8/1 - register by 7/7
Get ready to carry the torch and compete, cheer and celebrate global unity in our Summer Olympics themed week! We will embrace the spirit in a friendly competition, athleticism, and international fun as we host our own camp-wide Olympic Games, complete with exciting events, team challenges, and lots of teamwork.
Week 7: Disney Channel Originals | 7/29-8/2 – register by 7/14
Adventure Day Camp will have a week filled with Disney Channel Originals. Campers will play a variety of games and do crafts (such as making a mini guitar from the movie Camp Rock), themed around Disney Channel Original Movies. Campers will also make Mickey Mouse Ears.
Week 8: No Theme Week | 8/4 - 8/8 – register by 7/28
Sometimes, the best memories are made when we embrace the freedom and creativity of doing what we feel like at the moment! Welcome to No Theme Week, where each day is about embracing spontaneity, trying new things, and making memories without expectations. Without a specific theme, this week provides the perfect chance to revisit favorite activities from previous camp weeks or break from the usual and create new adventures.

Weather Related Communication Information
In the event of heavy rain, storms, and/or a heat advisory, Adventure Day Camp will be held indoors at a location to be determined (either at a Region 15 school or the Town of Southbury building). Parents will be notified of location changes via e-mail and the Remind Education app/website. Alerts of updates and location changes will be posted on this website, with a “red alert” bar on the top of the page.
Parents are encouraged to download the Remind Education app on their phones and join the Adventure Day Camp class to receive the most up-to-date reminders and notifications for camp.

Before-Camp (Monday-Friday, 7:30-8:30am) and After-Camp (Monday-Friday, 4:00-5:30 pm)
After-Camp and Before-Camp options are available to purchase at an additional cost. Purchasing After-Camp and/or Before-Camp will pop up as an "add-on" option during the checkout process!
Before-Camp's hours are from 7:30 am - 8:30 am. No snack option will be provided.
After-Camp's hours are from 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm. Southbury Parks and Recreation will provide campers with a light snack, activities, and more pool time (weather permitting).
All campers enrolled in after-camp MUST be enrolled in either Adventure Day Camp or TeenScape Camp during standard camp time.

Parents should park at the pavilion parking lot at Ballantine Park for drop off and pick up - BEFORE AND AFTER CAMP ONLY!
