The Parks & Rec Clubhouse provides a space to meet and make new friends through specialized activities for various ages. Participate in different & unique activities while our staff helps guide you through your adventures. And the best part is that we clean up the mess!Our activities range from seasonal activities, science/learning activities, sensory learning and other messy crafts & activities!Dungeons and Dragons Multi-Generational Adventures: Join Parks and Recreation Clubhouse for our Dungeons and Dragons Adventures!We will provide the space - you provide the adventure! Southbury Parks and Recreation will provide game supplies, tables, and chairs. Groups are responsible for running their own games. If you are hoping to play with more participants, please invite your friends to sign up and join us! Minors must be accompanied by an adult, staff will check you in but will not run programming. Think of this program as a play date where no one has to clean their house before the fun (or clean up after it!).Once you register, we will reach out with a link to a Discord Server that will put you in direct communication with the other adventurers. The group will decide weekly who is able to meet and what the plan is be it character development, a "one-shot" game, or other D&D related activity! (days and times are subject to change based on group's needs) Reach out to Sara in the main office with any questions: spanaccio@southbury-ct.gov In order to serve you better, Southbury Parks and Recreation's programs are subject to change. At A Step Ahead Soccer, we are confident that our unique approach to preschool education through interactive storytelling and physical activities will give your child a significant advantage in both academics and athletics. Our program focuses on making learning extremely enjoyable and thoroughly captivating.By helping Smart Scott, the Soccer-bot (our soccer ball) on his exciting adventures, children enhance their attention spans, imagination, and ability to follow instructions. Moreover, our approach ensures that children not only have a great time but also retain the skills they acquire.Choose A Step Ahead Soccer and your child will be fully equipped to excel in both academics and athletics. We are excited to be a part of your child’s growth and success!First Step: 2 year oldsYour Child's First Adventure into Soccer!Gentle introductions using simple stories and imaginative play. Focus on parent-child interaction, exploring movement, becoming comfortable with the ball (our friend "Smart Scott the Soccer-bot")!, and following simple story cues. Adventures are adapted for short attention spans and maximum sensory fun.Step Up: 3'and 4'sBuilding Independence and Confidence!Children engage more independently in slightly more complex adventures. Storylines encourage basic dribbling ("navigating a path"), stopping the ball ("avoiding obstacles"), and listening to multi-step instructions within the narrative. Emphasis on cooperation and understanding roles within the story.Next Step: 5'sPreparing for the Next Level of Soccer!Adventures are more dynamic through the storyline. Challenges require more advanced skills and strategic thinking increases within the narrative framework, preparing children for more structured play while reinforcing developmental goals through our imaginative scenarios.
